Time

I was reading Parenthetical Thoughts of a Madman: A Collection of Ponderings, Caricatured Expressions, and Rambling Streams of Consciousness During Moments of Anxiety by Pätrick Kiernan and thought the below about time was worth sharing:

Time

- for practical use -

To extend it, stay silent

To pause it, kiss

To escape it, create

To travel through it, read

To warp it, embrace nostalgia

To feel it, write something

To release it, breathe

To be free from it, live

(p. 56)

Time is such an interesting concept; the more time we think we have, the less time we actually have and vice versa.

How is it July already? Half of 2023 gone just like that! Given that we are half way through 2023, I recently sat with myself to do a progress update on the goals I had set for myself at the begnning of the year and could not help but remember January like it was yesterday. Adventuring to Ottawa and Montreal, celebrating my 27th birthday, starting a new semester, and excited for what the year had to offer.

While it is not my intention to send you into an existential crisis hole about how time is slipping away, I am reminding you to use it in a way that aligns with your desires and intentions because…TIME LITERALLY DOES NOT WAIT.

Keep spilling,

Mairo
